BSL Level TWO starts in......
Have you got your BSL Level ONE certificate? It doesn’t stop there! You can progress on to Signature’s Level TWO Certificate in BSL, the next course up, and the next step on your BSL journey. This course builds on and expands your Level ONE skills, by introducing a wider range of everyday situations, leading to longer and more varied conversations in BSL, around real life, routines and daily experiences.
At this stage of your BSL journey, you have already acquired some knowledge on Deaf Culture and Deaf History alongside those important skills for communicating with Deaf people. You’ve got the skills. You’ve got the experience. Your passion for this beautiful language and confidence in yourself are all you need to take you up a level onto the next phase of your journey.
By starting Level TWO, you are one step closer to your desired destination for using BSL, whether that’s for family or work purposes, and we’re still here with you, every step of the way.
Unit 201 - Receptive Skills
Unit 202 - BSL Productive Skills
Unit 203 - BSL Conversation Skills
Vocabulary and BSL grammar are taught across all three units through the mandatory theme of Everyday Conversation, and the three optional themes of Eating & Drinking, Spending & Shopping and Travel & Holiday.
Class tuition will involve group sessions, tutorials, student/tutor observations, presentations and mock assessments leading up to preparation for the end of unit assessments.
How will you be assessed?
There are 3 assessments for Level TWO:
Unit 201 - a receptive test, assessing your understanding of a story presented in BSL on a video.
Unit 202 - you will deliver a signed presentation to your teacher based on theme one and one of the optional themes, which you choose in consultation with your teacher.
Unit 203 - you will have a conversation with your teacher on theme one and one of the optional themes, which you choose in consultation with your teacher.
